Top of Vail Pass. (Happy 68th Birthday, Ron!)
Plus, Point B was sponsoring a corn hole toss bean bag game at the rest stop and Andy was the third person  all day to score all three bean bags in holes, displaying an enviable mastery of hand-eye coordination despite the altitude and about 50 miles behind him. He has a polka dot bandana to show for it…
And now, the 9-mile ride downhill to Copper! Whew hoo.

Definitely not down. By the way, this is a particularly hard section of climb, which is why the photo’s being shot from the grass. I had to rest a little. Vail Pass never seems to end… even when you get to the top.

Connie and Boon (tan collar) are resting with another pet therapist, Spree (blue collar), and a young ride volunteer. Like Boon, Spree also has three legs.

This is Connie towing Boon. Boon participates in Youth and Pet Survivors, which links pets with Children’s patients though a pen pal program. Connie said Boon just got to watch his third pen pal, who had a hard time with chemotherapy when she was 12, graduate from high school.
This is Boon’s 6th Courage tour. He’s an amputee, so only has three legs, but loves his trailer.
