Saturday morning - Leadville start!
Later start this year than last year. Not as late as some others we passed on the way in, though - we saw 10 or 20 Courage Classic riders (wearing t-shirts or past years’ Courage jerseys) riding from Copper to Leadville, adding about 25 miles to their day’s journey (the supported route is 59 miles today). Freemont Pass, leading up to the town of Leadville, was extra eerie and mysterious thanks to low-lying fog. Temp. about 50F, and seems ready to warm up. Cheers to a good ride…
